NYT WASHINGTON — As some on the right howled about a series of reversals by President Trump on a number of his campaign promises — conned, betrayed, sold out, they said — Rush Limbaugh asked his listeners on Thursday whether any of that flip-flopping really mattered.

“See what Jeff Sessions is doing?” Mr. Limbaugh said of the attorney general, answering his own question: “Damn straight.”

“Have you seen what the job situation is?” he asked.

“Have you seen what the economic forecasts in the future are?” he went on. The sentiment that Mr. Limbaugh was homing in on — the undented confidence that many Trump supporters have in the president as a get-things-done leader and deal maker — is the reason many conservatives say they do not think Mr. Trump will suffer much as he abandons some of his policy stances. They are not inclined to punish him, they say, even after he backed off his hard lines on NATO, the Chinese and the Export-Import Bank, and attacked Syria after having opposed such intervention.

Next time you need surgery, would you want someone with no experience?

it has been  pointed out, that govs are the best applicant

for the managerial business of being prez...

the latest dem applicant was the wife of a sexual exploiter (who was a gov)...

considering the results(last 60 years) of profession pols,i wouldn't want them to operate in

any government position..

most progressive pols (dem/repub/etc) want to save the earth by killing(want a few cites?) the current populating(selectively) and still  continue to import newbies..

I think our country's done pretty well with the experienced political leaders we've had over the years.

Trump is our experiment with letting someone who knows nothing about doing the job have a go at it. Fortunately, he doesn't work hard enough to totally destroy us. We'll survive, but the wounds will be significant. I hope they're not nuclear.

A governor is not an outsider.  There's nothing magical about Washington that all the corruption is there and the state capitols are pure.  Pence has been in the Koch Bros pocket forever and he's as crooked as they come.

I want a president who is experienced in how govt works, which Trump is not.

20 trillion dollar debt isn't a wound??

just to match the prev 8 years, trump will have to run up a 2 trillion debt per year..

I blame the professional pols for that... lets see how an amateur does..

"profession pols" include Congress/presidents/appointed officals

and mayors/governors..

and most states are up to their balls in debt
