Trump Declares Himself a Resident of Florida

New York Times: “In late September, Mr. Trump changed his primary residence from Manhattan to Palm Beach, Fla., according to documents filed with the Palm Beach County Circuit Court. Melania Trump, the first lady, also changed her residence to Palm Beach in an identical document.”

“Each of the Trumps filed a ‘declaration of domicile’ saying that the Mar-a-Lago Club, Mr. Trump’s resort in Palm Beach, will be their permanent residence.”

President Florida Man....must have finally had a long chat with some real lawyers, You do know if you declare Mar a Lago as your primary residence, Florida has a law that they can't seize your primary residence.

Why OJ loves in Florida, they can't take his home. On the other hand, maybe he thinks New York state can't arrest him in Florida, he's like really stupid.

NYT says it is because taxes are cheaper there. I thought it was because of NY investigations, but if the business is still headquartered in NY, that wouldn’t matter

President Donald Trump has officially filed paperwork claiming to be resident of Florida, according to a bombshell report that broke on Halloween evening.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) ridiculed Trump for the move.

“Good riddance,” Cuomo said.

“It’s not like Mr. Trump paid taxes here anyway,” he continued.

“He’s all yours, Florida,” Cuomo added.

That, and the fact that Florida has no state income tax.

Are the additions to mar a lago made with taxpayer money going to be removed, helicopter and all?

So wouldn't it be true that ONLY that portion of mar a lago that IS residence--the 3-4 bedrooms, kitchen, living area is not able to be confiscated? That he can't use the rest for business/resort? Get money for it's use? And if all/most of his other businesses and assets are confiscated to pay debts and whatever else, he may not have enough money to keep it going?

Does Florida's confiscation law mean the federal gov can't take it either?

NYC is glad he's gone. He paid no taxes because of his business losses, and the cost of patrolling his towers must have nearly bankrupted them.
