Wash Post:

NEW YORK — New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a lawsuit Wednesday accusing former president Donald Trump, three of his grown children and executives at his company of flagrantly manipulating property valuations to deceive lenders, insurance brokers and tax authorities into giving them better rates on bank loans and insurance policies and to reduce their tax liability.

The 222-page civil complaint asks the New York Supreme Court to bar Trump, as well as Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump, from serving as executives at any company in New York, and to bar the Trump Organization from acquiring any commercial real estate or receiving loans from any New York-registered financial institution for five years.

It seeks to recover more than $250 million in what James’s office says are ill-gotten gains received through the alleged deceptive practices. While the lawsuit itself is not a criminal prosecution, James (D) said she has referred possible violations of federal law to the Justice Department and the IRS.

He will start getting phone calls & demand letters, generally along the lines of by the close of biz this the loan back, as you made a material misstatement of fact(the small print in any loan document). This also means bank officers have this fiduciary duty thing to not screw over their shareholders, by not continuing to do biz with a fraud.

The boys will be getting change at the bank, getting garage sale signs @ Walmart, for their upcoming garage sales.

I got about eighty pages in. The Complaint presents a compelling explanation of how gross overstatement of assets was SOP for the Trumps. One rather amusing example is the valuation of Donnie's apartment at Trump Tower, which was calculated at 30,000 square feet (it's "only" 10,000) times about $10,000/sq.ft. A penthouse down the block had sold at that sq.ft. price; Donnie insisted his apartment had to be at least as much, even though units in his building sold at far lower rates thanthose in more modern top-tier buildings on 57th St. (Contrary to Donnie's boasting, Trump Tower was renovated on the cheap in the 80's, with granite veneers and "brass" fittings covering dated structurals and systems.)

It's like borrowing money from a lender using a Ford GT-40 as collateral, when it's actually a Ford Fiesta.

Thing is they have known about trump & how he operates for decades. Seems no one had the balls to go after him due to her reputation for clogging up the docket with garbage. Now it's open season on PissWig & Cie.

For decades Trump has been able to bamboozle lenders and investors who found themselves grossly undercapitalized by arguing he was worth more alive than dead -- that they needed him to keep the brand alive to keep the assets from becoming worthless. That also kept the creditors from hounding the prosecutors for blood. But he's way overplayed that hand.

If there has ever been a more blatant political act from an AG than this, I don't think I have ever seen it.

Gotta get those votes!
