I hope Dr. Richardson comes for the unveiling.  I've met all members of Team Barbaro (including seeing Bobby at Keeneland) except for M & M Jackson & Dr. Dean.

I'm afraid he is not planning on attending:

Dear Donna,

I am writing in response to your inquiry asking if Dr. Richardson will be attending the Barbaro Memorial unveiling at Churchill Downs on April 26th.  At this point, Dr. Richardson does not have plans to attend.

Thank you for your continued support of Penn Vet.

Kind Regards,

Jennifer

I can certainly understand considering how busy he must be, but it still would have been nice to meet him.

Thanks Mary for the ride to the Dinner!!!  I went to a lecture that Dr. Dean presented in Philadelphia awhile ago.  It was awesome!!!  Dr. Dean Richardson is so smart and so charming it was a real treat to be in attendance with someone so close to our beloved Barbaro!!!  I can understand why he might not be coming to the statue unveiling but I hope he knows that we FOB's really respect him for the great care and love he showered on our dear boy, Barbaro!!!  He is a class act!!!

Respectfully,

Joan/VA

That's awesome that you actually got to see and meet him.  His intense attachment to Barbaro comes through whenever he talks about his famous patient, doesn't it?  He is superb in my book and I hope he knows how much we admire and respect him, but I have a sneaky feeling that he does. ;)

Glad you're coming to the dinner - since we will be spending our driving time together anyway, I suppose I assumed we'd be going to the dinner together.  What are your plans for Saturday afternoon?

Hi Mary,

I am open for Sat.  I would love to see Mill Ridge Farms where La Ville Rouge lives.  I called and spoke with some nice lady and a woman by the name of Beverly was going to call me back.  With La Ville Rouge's foal date this weekend I will try calling again next week.  I am taking Monday, Feb. 23rd off my younger son, Joseph is having a field trip and I am going to help drive some of his classmates to a Charlotte's Web play at a local university.  I love Charlotte's Web it is a great story!!!  I am getting so excited for the trip in April.  It is going to be so fun!!!!

Cheers,

Joan/VA
