An easy way to promote your forum on search engines, since most don't search a forum, is to set up a web page for your forum.

Put a prominent link to your forum on the web page.

And click to this message: 2008.41  for how to get your forum listed in Google.

Be sure to index your forum.  Some search engines, including Google, do catch Delphi's index pages, which have links to your forum.

One starting point is to do a web page, with a prominent link to your forum and information about it, and then submit it to search engines.  You can do a free submission at http://www.addme.com/submission.htm to about 14 major search engines.

That was a good link, thanks!

The only problem which I had with it is that I used Tripod for my forum's website, and for some reason, several of the search engines kept saying that the webpage was not a valid one.  Two of the sites also required you to use meta tags, and I don't know enough HTML to add those to my Tripod site.

It added my webpage to most of the search engines, though, so that was great!

Some page building software (like Homestead) can build your meta tags.   I dcon't know if Tripod does but you might ask.
