A poster recently asked in Member Services how to post a PDF in a post or on a start page.   While you can use an attachment, here's a better way.

There are many free and paid programs that convert a pdf to other graphic formats like a gif or jpg and those can then be included in a post, or start page.

Free online ones:

https://pdf2jpg.net/

https://smallpdf.com/pdf-to-jpg

https://docs.zone/pdf-to-jpg

Another option:

Here's a webpage that explains "how to save a PDF file in JPEG image format using Microsoft Word, Apple Preview, or Adobe Acrobat Pro."

Also a couple more free PDF to JPEG/JPG sites:

And another Wikihow - how to  convert PDFs to GIFs:

Side note:

Many versions of Microsoft WORD, WordPerfect and some free "Office" programs can save a document as a PDF, so you can convert for example a Word document with all its formating to a PDF, then use the above tips for a jpg, and post a perfect copy of let's say a letter on your "letterhead."

If you are linking to a PDF from a web source somewhere, Zeta forums actually have a very neat feature for embedding entire PDFs. I used to do it with the newsletter I was writing for The Horror Show. I would save it in my Delphi webspace and embed it like any article and you could scroll through it right in the message. It was quite neat.

You're correct - this is one area where zeta has a tool classic doesn't.   But I love my workaround for classic.

Glen, you might want to re-do your promo. It leads to the wrong discussion.

Put PDFs in your posts and start pages

This easy trick lets you do a PDF in a post - no attachment required
