More bad news, my condolences to their connections and all who followed and loved them.:(
The horse death toll at Churchill Downs continued to grow Friday when Lost in Limbo, a 7-year-old gelding, was euthanized after breaking down in the seventh race. The horse was running in a claiming race, his 35th lifetime start. Adding that to a previously unreported death two weeks ago, 11 horses have died in a month at the Louisville home of the Kentucky Derby.
Lost in Limbo threw his rider, Ricardo Santana Jr., during the post parade but was OK'd to run. The death was confirmed by Dr. Will Farmer, equine medical director for Churchill Downs, Inc., through a spokesman.
On May 13, Bosque Redondo finished 10th in a race but was then taken off the course by equine ambulance, according to the steward’s report. “The horse was transported to a Lexington clinic for further diagnostics,” the report said. “It was later reported that the horse was humanely euthanized due to his injuries and poor prognosis for recovery.”

If I had a horse I would run it at Churchill
They should close the track-- too many injuries and deaths IMO

RIP sweet girl, my condolences to her connections
In the first race May 27, Kimberley Dream sustained a significant injury—a distal sesamodean ligament rupture—to her left front leg. A similar injury occurred to Lost in Limbo during Friday's seventh race. Unfortunately, in both scenarios, attending veterinarians determined that the injuries were inoperable and unrecoverable and made the difficult but most humane decision to euthanize

I am so shocked. She was kind of a "local horse" around here-Delaware Park- Rick Porter.
What a shame.

It was very shocking. I didn't realize she was owned by Rick Porter- bless him- he was a wonderful owner and cared so much for his horses.

Wasn’t watching this race, recorded, but don’t think I’ll go back to watch it.
My condolences to her connections

Unfortunately I was watching it live to see how the Friedberg's horse and Rick Dutrow's horses did.
With all the fatalities recently, I was wondering why nothing has been said about bisphosphonates which were highly publicized a few yrs. ago. Any ideas about this?
