Laffit on HRTV commented "broken heel? Or shark bite?" Yes it did look nasty!

Foot injuries are bad.  Best of luck to Garrett.

I know you do not share my opinion but I love Borel's jockey calendar photo.  It's the first one where the rider's persoanlity really comes through and the man has some yummy arms on him. Mr. March is just fine with me.

Now, am I happy that my birthday month of October features Go-Go in all his jaw-dropping glory?  You bet!

Mr. October, huh? I haven't been looking ahead - but that's cool....Reggie Jackson....and maybe that means Garrett will knock em dead in the breeders cup!

Oh, good one!  I wish they had used the shot of Mike Smith lying in bed, that could have caused me to seek help for elevated blood pressure.

With all the bad press racing's getting lately - here's a really nice article by Caton Bredar. Why don't they make a tv series showing the GOOD side of the sport.....?

I continue to marvel at the accessibility and graciousness of our sport’s biggest stars and the knowledge they’re willing to share. And it’s not just with me or the media they share with.
Jockeys and trainers—and in many cases, owners—continue to be the sport’s greatest ambassadors to the general public. With no monetary compensation, they consistently take time out of their busy schedules…schedules that arguably are more 24/7 than in any other athletic endeavor…and give of themselves to their sport and their fans.

In between early morning workouts and races virtually seven days a week, they do tv interviews, radio shows, teleconferences, phone interviews and conference calls. They write blogs, go on twitter, participate in fundraisers, do charity work, hand out goggles, donate halters, sign autographs, answer often times ridiculous questions and generally, do so with grace and incredible patience.

Oh this was a treat to read!  Thanks so much for posting it.  I like Caton Bredar, she is genuine.  And heck she is a good writer!  Would love to see more of this from her.  Thanks for the link.  Totally new website for me.

I thought it was well written too...Zoe Cadman tweeted it - Zoe's another great ambassador for the sport.

Such a shame that HBO trainwreck was such a wasted opportunity.... As I said to Linda VA, I wish someone could help people see the sport we see, warts and all..Not just the warts.
