Only Veterinarian’s can administer drugs on the backstretch so how is it that these three runners received bute and banamine?

I’m sure she did it herself

why didn’t they disqualify the horses since it was a violation?

Side note- do trainers have insurance which would pay their fines, or are all these right out of their pocket?

Trainers are not allowed to be in possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia. If they did a search of her barn and found these items it’s a heftier fine.
I am not sure why the horses not taken down.

Insurance would not pay for this it out of her own pocket.

California is going to honor the suspension and I agree it is excessive. Smith is working on an appeal we will see what happens.

Wow I wonder who will take on the Darley horses he has in his care. I hope his move is successful.

I wonder too if his illness has anything to do with it, he has MS doesn’t he?

Stunning news.  I wish him much luck.  I do wonder who Darley goes with also.  He was their main guy.
