Another NY trainer is fined for payroll issues.
This is one way to push trainers out and end racing. At some point the trainers will not be able to raise the day fee to cover the salaries that the Government wants.

Consistency with horses is very important you can’t assign 2 grooms to a horse, 1 in morning 1 in afternoon. Not to mention that will increase cost for the trainers even more.
I do not understand how the Government can come in and say you Must pay x$$. It’s the same on a farm.

Re evaluation on 1/18 2nd opinion says not fractured.
Irad Ortiz Jr., injured in a starting gate accident at Gulfstream Park Jan. 7, remains sidelined while recovering from a knee injury. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated Jan. 18.
