Irad Ortiz Jr., injured in a starting gate accident at Gulfstream Park Jan. 7, remains sidelined while recovering from a knee injury. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated Jan. 18.

A bone bruise is not so bad as long as no muscles or tendons are injured. Fingers crossed he heals quickly.

Aqueduct Jockey Ramos Tests Positive for COVID-19
Jockey Christian Ramos tested positive for COVID-19 Jan. 13 and will remain off his mounts through Jan. 16, the New York Racing Association announced Jan. 13.

Unfortunately he’s a sick man, and I’m sure he won’t be able to get a mount anywhere and will be banned from most racetracks now.:(
