Very grateful that Silvera will be okay.  We will take all the good news we can find.

What a freaky situation and a really awful injury- I feel badly for her. Does the track have a mechanism for dealing with situations like this ( like keeping geese off the track)- I don't hear about situations like this very often.

I don’t know, they should though. I think it was stamps earlier this year, had an alligator on the track that a horse had to jump- yikes!

Seems to me I have heard of tracks employing Border Collies to chase them off, but that won't help during a race.  They would have to patrol the acreage around the lakes fulltime until the geese moved on from those lakes.  don't know how possible that would be.

Sounds as if the first thing to do is determine if a trainer or other person is feeding the geese.  That is not good.

Prayers for rapid and  perfect healing for Chantal.  What a shame that she had plans for Monmouth this summer.

Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't Diodoro had quite a few infractions compared to other trainers thru the yrs?  I do not pay any attention to him, but seems to me I have read things about this trainer that are not so good.  Have not read the bloodhorse article.
