I wish I could believe it was that benign, but Milch is a race horse owner and they had vets and tech consultants aplenty.  What kind of total idiot thinks it's okay to race sick unfit horses?  They knew better.  I'm no expert and I know better.  I'm waiting for Gary Stevens to say something about this.

I am not sure if Gary will say anything. Unfortunately there are people, such as Ray Paulick, are not happy the show was canceled. He seems just fine with the death of the horses. I wonder what tvg and hrtv think?

It's been interesting watching this giant gulf split our community in half. I don't agree with extremism on either side. (but I'm more likely to err in the direction that cares about the animals)

As far as Gary Stevens goes, I know he's been high on acting since Seabiscuit and he's been trying to break into the motion picture industry (his wife was a production asst. or something) so this must have been a stunning blow to him. For someone who's given up a stellar career, I can totally understand the appeal of a second career in Hollywood and learning a new exciting skill in a team situation with lots of accolades from adoring fans.

I get it. But I wish they would try and "get it" too. -

Gary did say something - upset the show was cancelled.  In one of the Luck threads I posted a link regarding the cancellation and it had alot of the people involved with the show's comments.  Of course I can't find it at the moment!

ETA - here is the link to the article with Gary's comments:

Gary's a good actor, so I hope he finds another good part to sink his teeth into.

I do think the incident with the filly was just an unfortunate accident but it came on the heels of the other two deaths and was just the last straw.  And to find out they were using old sick horses is just horrible.  I feel badly for all those who are out of work but safety comes first.

I agree, he was much better than Toby Maguire, and it would be interesting to see him in a non-horse related role.

What a class act Ramon is - he was thankful the horse didn't break down-which he thought she did.
Poor guy - it's not looking good for the Derby..

I'll have to wait until I get home to read this, but that's too bad, missing the Derby.
