Thanks for sharing his story: As only one of three foals left from secretariat, he is precious.

Very interesting info about Maritime Traveler.  He was not included in the Secretariat progeny calendars I was given.  He may have been included in 2021 or 2022 since I don't have those.  My friends at one of the big stud farms used to send me one each year from the first calendar on.  It became more a calendar of his grandkids after those first years.

Here is what was said about Border Run, a full to the incredible Terlingua and also Pancho Villa. " Stakes placed gelding in his 41-race career.  Where he went after retirement is unknown, but Border Run resurfaced in 2011 and is now owned by Curtis and Margo Wright in Washington."

The last mare is Trusted Company  "a recent addition to this group  (taken from 2020 calendar info)  having been discovered in the fall of 2018.  Became a stakes-producing broodmare.  Lived most of her life with a family member until circumstances required a new home.  She was acquired by Bright Futures Farm in late 2018.

one of my favorite pages featured the grey, Tobias, by Arch out of Secy. mare Listen Well.  He won flat training races at steeplechase competitions;  I followed him in his later career.  He only won once in a regular TB race.  I last saw him competing at KY Downs, I believe.  Hope he is still living in SC.

"Secretariat's Living Legends"  was created by Patricia McQueen.  She researched, wrote and photographed these significant horses given to us by Secretariat.  I imagine some of the calendars might be available on ebay, but I haven't checked.  The photos alone would be worth the purchase price.

Loved the story about the gray kittens.  What an amazing horse --- he knew he was King.

Thank you for letting me know.  Had not seen this publicized anywhere.  What an amazing long life and his last years were with people who truly treasured him.  Rest in Peace Border Run.

Glad you provided a link to the story by Patricia McQueen.  I had just  googled Border Run and read it.  Almost added a Happy Birthday to Man 'o War to the first response, but will add it now.
