Chief Big Head finished 6th.  Chart says duelled with first place horse, It's Your Call (colt by Encaustic !).  He faded before the end. (I missed race too since friends came over to visit the cat they gave me in March.  They were so happy to find a great home for him since their indoor cat hated him and they wanted this foundling to have a special place of his own.)

Maybe next time Chief Big Head will improve.

Nice win and race for Uphold today, but he was claimed.:(

Uphold won at Ind Gr. earlier.  Split horses, forged thru  (I thought) , to win by about two.  Was claimed by Clabar Mor Stb. and trainer John Haran.  When I looked up clabar Mor the name was Mike Ryan.  Could that possibly be the well-known bloodstock agent Mike Ryan who buys nice horses at all the auctions?  Or another Ryan?

Uphold has had same owner Marie Van Matre since the beginning unless I missed his changing ownership briefly at some point since 2017.  He was owned by her  thru out his career and I sure hope his new owners are kind to him!  I really dislike claiming races and wish this country did not offer them;  there are countries where they don't exist.  So, prayers for Uphold to be okay in his new stall tonight.

Just watched Uphold win a stakes race at Ind. Grand!  Very muddy.  Stayed on inside and was able to get through at the end.  Couldn't believe he was going to win,  very exciting in stakes company.  He did win his last race, a claimer, and was claimed by Clabar Mor from that race.   We can rejoice over Uphold's win.

Yes, they weren't saying complimentary things until after race.  Just said they would speak with connections in a bit, but don't know if they will.  Hope so.

Although Ken Rudolph was a bit interested in him before race- he usually picks underdogs .
