This bill was presented to the full house and passed. It now moves to the governor's office for signature.....https://tuesdayshorse.wordpress.com/2017/03/05/kentucky-legislature-setting-the-stage-for-the-slaughter-of-horses-with-sb-139/

And in an administration that is busily walking back whatever environmental protection laws they can lay their hands on, the governor likely will sign off on that bill.

If you study his record, I would say he doesn't need any help from the current administration to sign off on this bill.  In 2014, he spoke at a pro ####-fighting rally?  Really?  Yikes! ....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Bevin

I am stunned:   Let me get this straight, Kentucky is horse country; brings in millions of dollars to the state , employs lots of people in the horse industry, and there is a

chance they could allow slaughter there? it is unimaginable.

Thanks for that perspective.

I am nervous about a lot of things these days in this administration.

Then again, do we know anything about how easy/difficult it is in Kentucky to prosecute cruelty to companion animals as opposed to cruelty to livestock?  And what part of the industry so needs to be helped by this bill, and just how?  The big stud farms  seem to be doing just fine.

We all know it's an industry and all about the money.  Anyone who doesn't is naive
