The Maryland Jockey Club has canceled racing for two weeks at Laurel following 26 horses testing positive for EVH-1 at Maryland racetracks, with another 11 horses deemed "suspect."

Yes it does say they get many from Laurel.

This isn’t a track cancellation (yet) but a pause in timed works so they can assest problems with the winterizing of the track at Laurel. There are to continue racing Saturday. Now, if they think there’s a problem now, why would they want to allow racing on it???

I have no clue, perhaps it’s not that bad and the issues are in the am with colder temps?

I wondered that myself about allowing racing this Saturday.  Perhaps it is as Amy suggests.
