When they collect the urine or the blood or both. At the time of the collection they put equal amounts into two containers, 1 is sent off to the lab for testing and the second one is held back Incase they want to run a second test, as is the case with this one. So the first sample tested positive and the other half will go to another lab for testing to see if they come up with the same results.

Here are a few of my observations and why I believe Baffert.
1) Since 2019 California Racing has toughened up the scrutiny of trainers. Every drug is logged for every horse and administered by an approved CA vet.
2) KY received then horses medication record and did a pre race sample test. Nothing came up in the test and Betamethasone is not on the medication list.
3) Bob knows he is under the microscope because of the issues in 2019 and 2020, there is no way he does anything that would be illegal.
4) There are people who want to end racing and I do not put it past a group or individual to do something nefarious.
5) It could very well be caused from cross contamination of some sort. Since the drug is used for humans as well.

I’ve posted an article on how positives are determined, on the horse research thread.

I agree ... Why would anyone cause a horse to test positive on purpose with two Triple Crown wins.
