It will be a shame if Forte misses the Preakness but I believe it was the right thing to do to have scratched him from the Derby--- you have to feel bad for all the connections and those who lovingly care for him (the grooms)

This is a really sad story about Forte-- now he will most likely miss the Preakness: all that planning and hope for this wonderful horse. It is just sad. Like they say, a horse is only three years old once-

It’s an issue that needs to be addressed by HISA with a less serious injury like a foot bruise. He can still run in the Belmont.

In agreement with you and ger. I do not believe that TP would run a horse who was unsound. Forte's connections are suffering for the actions of the many unscrupulous trainers out there. CD is just so fearful of the happenings in which they figure lately that they have become more dictatorial than usual. Shug was on Byk this morning and he addressed the gate scratch of Talk of the Nation Saturday in the Amer. Turf. He and Reeve said there was nothing wrong with that horse. Woah. That is a big surprise. Thank you for linking this NYT article.
Did you like last nights Corgi at WKC? I must say, after watching Collie breed judging online and then the group last night, I do think that collie is really beautiful. I am not familiar with him and none of my friends showed at WKC; collie people are much more into the National Spec. than WKC. I believe the Poodle Nationals were the weekend before WKC, so many quality poodles were there since they were in PA over that time period. Was nice to see Tom Coen judging. He used to handle lots of collies along with his wife Nioma. His shelties were amazing dogs.

I do like the corgi that won at Westminster, she is bread and owned by a friend and she is deserving of the win.
Poodle Nationals was held outside of St Louis. I am not sure about the Westminster winner.

Don't know why I thought PCA was in NJ recently. Just don't keep up with them anymore, obviously. Congratulations to your friend for the great win at WKC. Well done!
