This weekend, for the first time ever, horses will have the opportunity to earn an automatic berth plus a $25,000 equine travel stipend to England for one of the six 2-year-old races Royal Ascot when Gulfstream Park hosts the $100,000 Royal Palm Juvenile and $100,000 Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies, both scheduled for five furlongs on the turf May 13.
This year's Royal Ascot meet runs June 20-24. Overall, Ward owns 12 wins at Royal Ascot, eight of them with 2-year-olds, and he not only points for the races each year but his success has encouraged other American-based horsemen to make the pilgrimage, as well.

I will find it bittersweet when the royal family arrives in their carriages and the Queen is no longer there. She loved racing and her horses with so much intensity. I know that Queen Camilla loves horses and is very knowledgeable about them, but The Queen had such a body of knowledge and was such an expert in not only her horses, but most flat and jump horses. She is missed....
May-11
The queen is definitely missed- She was unique in so many ways, including
her love and knowledge of horses---She did so much for horse racing in England
and you can be sure she is greatly missed by the industry in that country. It will be sad
not seeing her at Ascot in her colorful clothes.

Queen Elizabeth ll(?) can never be replaced. Her love and knowledge of the thoroughbred , plus her passion for it, was extraordinary. When it came to horses, she was just one of us! A true horseman. A great loss for sure, and very bittersweet come Royal Ascot time.
May-11
You are so right-she can never be replaced----she was an authentic
one. of a kind person and I am sorry she is gone

She sure is! I agree it will be sad not seeing her in the carriage everyday.
