RIP Snake Doctor, 2yr oldby Oxbow, broke down in the More Than Ready Juvenile Stakes at Kentucky Downs today. My condolences to his connections, jockey was okay and riding next race.

Thank you for letting us know;  I did not hear any updates on TVG about Snake Doctor or Santana.  I looked up the horse's breeding and his dam Rare Event produced Improbable.  I feel so bad for Sisterson and Calumet.  Just a two year old....

I always look to DRF twitter for updates since you only hear updated when it’s a stakes race or Breeder’s Cup. The sad thing is most likely a true miss step  and their fragile legs can’t handle the stress:(

My heart breaks whenever I hear about a breakdown and euthanization.  A horse broke down and was euthanized at Golden Gate today: i read there have been 25 fatalities at Golden Gate Since December.

I have decided my love for watching these magnificent animals run around a track is greater than my grief at these breakdowns but still- it is so heartbreaking.

25 years young but still to soon.
