My heart breaks whenever I hear about a breakdown and euthanization.  A horse broke down and was euthanized at Golden Gate today: i read there have been 25 fatalities at Golden Gate Since December.

I have decided my love for watching these magnificent animals run around a track is greater than my grief at these breakdowns but still- it is so heartbreaking.

So sad.  I know a horse who survived this but he had it rough for a while and can have side effects occasionally.  Scary.
