The article states that horses need more time to acclimate to the difference in tracks from Europe to Australia.   There have been too many breakdowns during the Melbourne Cup-----

Damn.  Just saw news from Paulivk Report the Archarcharch has died of an illness in Korea.  Awesome horse!  RIP beautiful one.

Yes, so sad.  Loss of another Roberto-line stallion.  Was very upset when he left the states, along with Tizway.  I still remember his Derby with Jon Court and Early Fires.  Was so hoping he would do well, but with that injury I was just grateful he made it to become a sire.  I noticed two Archarcharch runners in races tomorrow.  We just have to hope that some of the Korean offspring can carry on for him.

 I saw that and i was so shocked: He was so young. He was awesome.
