Here is American d’oro’s workouts, this colt was NOT fit to be racing! Plus a 4 furlong work just 4 days before the race? UGH

Thank you for posting this additional info about American d'Oro. He deserves better.

Some trainers choose to get their horses fit by racing but this is absolutely unexceptionable IMHO

Did American D'Oro pass away? I am not clear about that- As of yesterday I thought he was ok

As far as we know American D’Oro is still alive , I just posted his very weak workout chart and IMHO he was not fit enough to run a credible race over 1 1/16 mile

We lost a wonderful owner. Condolences to his family and friends. Horse racing has lost another icon in the sport.
Rick Porter, whose Fox Hill Farms campaigned multiple champions including 2011 Horse of the Year Havre de Grace, has died. He was 80.

I feel very sad about his passing: I was just coming here to post this. He was a wonderful man, an owner that truly loved and did right by his horses. I will always believe that he saved the life of Songbird by recognizing she had a serious problem. Condolences to his friends and family. I believe his love for horses extended his life as he fought through battling cancer for several years.
