If anyone would like to follow/watch the AEC's (American Eventing Championships), click on the link here for www.eventingnation.com, and scroll down the page. There are clips of dressage tests today, including Becky Holder and Courageous Comet. This will be his last Advanced horse trial, I beleive Becky will ride him in some advanced dreaage shows, and he may also have some junior riders on him at the lower levels of eventing...Go CC! There is also a visoe clip of Michale Pollard riding Hanni, the horse that survived the horse trailer accident, earlier this year (or was it last year?). I'm sure they will also have video of the xcountry on Saturday, after the horses are finished.....enjoy!

Here is the link to live scoring and ride times for the AEC's xcountry...and my bad, they are having 2 days of it, although when we had it by me, and I worked it, we had 3 days, but they were also record entry years.......anyway here's the link

Becky and Comet were double clear today, but Inoticed Becky had "retired"  her other horse on course, so will have to wait until they write up what went wrong.....

Becky and Can't Fire Me were eliminated on the last water jump, when Becky fell off him after he tried to get the jump when Becky put him wrong to the fence..he made the huge leap, but caught  a leg and stubled going into the water, which is when Becky came off, so I don't know why they posted her as "retiring" since a fall from the horse is an automatic elimination.....

Becky Holder and Courageous Comet jumped double-clear to extend their lead in the advanced division at the American Eventing Championships.  Becky and Comet made the hard look easy and the easy look effortless around Comet's last upper-level XC ride of his career.  Becky was just several fences from completing her second perfect round of the day, this time aboard Can't Fire Me, when she missed her distance jumping into the second water and fell at the second element after Can't Fire Me did everything he could to save the day.  Becky and "Teddy" were both up quickly and fine.  Becky took the long walk back to the barns with a frustrated smile and the comfort of knowing she will be jumping for the win tomorrow with Comet.  Eventing is a sport of inches and we were just that close to a repeat of the Saturday at Richland that gave Becky the top two places with her two lovely horses.

Thanks for the thread. Just found it after posting about my ex-racer (under "Racing") who is just starting to event.

Exciting to me, photos: http://www.photostockplus.com/home.php?user_id=41021&tmpl=127&event=1178776&album_id=1179019

Apparently most of the riders at The Plantation, In PA, were wearing helmelts instead of top hats for the upper levels for dressage........

Jan was probably among the majority of riders who chose to wear helmets in the FEI CIC *** division today which was interesting.

That is really interesting and the riders with the helmets looked great in their photos!

I checked the Riders4Helmets web site to see if they had information about it.  They didn't (yet) but they had a cool campaign with the Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover to encourage helmet use.

Boyd told me that Neville is sound to the untrained eye, but having ridden and competed him for ten years or so, he feels that he is not quite right, and has abandoned his plans to campaign him for Pau CCI****, which included Plantation and Morven Park Horse Trials as part of the preparation, “We’ve got to figure out what this little part of him that doesn’t feel 100%, he’s 95%. It’s not a limb lameness. You’re riding around and he looks sound but I’ve ridden him for ten years and he just doesn’t feel right, especially in the canter. Dr Kevin Keane is trying to investigate if it’s something in the chest or the shoulder. We’re going to try and get him into the New Bolton Center and we’re going to use some of their fancy equipment to really try and figure out why he’s not feeling at his best. As a horseman, the feeling I’m getting is that he’s happy and he’s enjoying his work but something is bothering him; he’s usually wild and crazy, and he’s normal at the moment so something inside tells me we’ve got to figure something out!
