 This article reference's that the jockey reported that Pinehurst was exhibiting lameness during the race, which is why he was pulled up. I hope he will be ok.

Pinehurst owner is stating on Twitter he is ok. I know he is getting 30 days rest in Lexington and I am sure they will look him over head to toe.

I wonder if Flavian just meant he wasn’t handling/ traveling over the surface rather than actually running lame?
