Spun To Run won the Smarty Jones Stakes and another Stakes race at PARX this year...so if Omaha Beach could not win...hats off to Spun To Run. He trains at PARX -I live near there and had the pleasure of seeing Spun To Run and take photos!

I am so sad for the connections of Mongolian Groom. I read in my local paper that the public will now push for the end of horse racing! Well, you know the press...

I had forgotten that also about Belvoir Bay - thanks for the reminder.

So happy about Vino Rosso's win.  He was my pick.

But terribly sad about Mongolian Groom.  Really nice colt with great connections.

Good article from Paulick:  Breeder's cup mum on Mongolian Groom's exam history: people are upset at the lack of transparency--- looking at some other sites, people are talking about videos they reviewed that appear to show that MG left hind ( i believe this was the fatally injured limb), did not look quite right during workouts.

See this is what ruins the sport. Many years ago at PARX - a horse "dropped dead" at the finish of a race. He had a heart attack - not an injury, but the owners and trainers took off...leaving me to think something was not right. I did not find out a conclusion. This was an unusual incident at PARX.

Lack of transparency is a problem: failure to address these awful situations and a direct and forthright manner lead to rampant speculation---- that is never good. Like the situation with MG- now that the BC refuses to discuss important issues involving this horse, people are assuming they are covering something up.

This is not going to help horse racing and gives the Governor of California and PETA an excuse to end California Horse Racing at least at Santa Anita...I am worried.
