Why didn’t this vet for Stronach (now) do anything about SF-1000 before, or, was she the one behind starting the investigation?

I’ve read this twice, but I’m babysitting so don’t have to time to try to make sense of the article. It seems ironic she’s at Gulfstream where most of this went down.

From what I am reading she was curious about it and did ask the FDA to look into it and try to develop a test to detect it.
She didn’t drop any ball, unfortunately theses cheaters are 20 steps ahead of the regulators and drug testing

I am glad Mr. West is doing this, and they asked that MS’s blood from races go back in for testing of PED

Excellent decision.  If the horse was outperforming his capabilities - overdoing it - this examination should find any physical issues.

I was just coming here to post this: I am so impressed with the Wests for doing this: nothing is more important than the health of the horses--- hoping the horse will be okayed to continue racing but I know Dr. Bramlage will do a thorough job and if necessary the horse will be retired.

Not much in the news about this due to the pandemic, but there was a report on NPR recently that the feds are now investigating the CA circuit.  Once the feds take over an investigation, pressure starts to get put on those already charged to "spill their guts" in order to get sentencing consideration. I'm suspect that a lot of well-known trainers are sleeping a little less well these days, as well they finally  should.  I applauded Graham Motion's comment that basically said "At last!".

It took serious surveillance methods to catch them but it did the job that tracks were not able or willing to commit to.

Looking forward to seeing more indictments to clean up the sport!
