I love the heart of this horse! But Baffert’s mismanagement of his care should be acknowledged and punished some way, he has gotten away with this before. I always feel bad for the horse, he didn’t do this to himself.

Well I expect a huge lawsuit over this! This punishment is over the top just as Holendorfer’s in CA is.

The prohibition, which will prevent Baffert from running in the Derby until at least 2024, is being enacted under the company’s power of exclusion, a right given to private businesses so long as the bans do not violate protected rights, such as age, sex, or race. Racing licensees have challenged such bans in the past in civil courts with a mixed record of success.

I wonder what that Hollendorfer thing was all about, we never heard. I know some owners moved horses, and he’s racing everywhere except CA. Maybe an issue with CA board?

But Baffert only had 2 positive drug tests (at CDI tracks) on a substance that is a therapeutic and tested At a
very low level. CDI cannot and should not take into account any other positive results from other jurisdictions. Which by the way Baffert was exhorted on.
This is a witch hunt for some reason.
