Does violence gets more attention than peaceful protest?

Would America's racial problems be resolved without the Watt's riot? Does peaceful protest ever accomplish a goal? Did America simply protest peacefully to withdraw from England? Do peaceful protests draw bigger headlines than violent protests?

Let's face it, violence works.

Are there many examples of kings or dictators being overthrown without violence?

Christianity prefers peaceful means but where would Christianity be without wars?

If Islam was not met with the crusades would we all be speaking Arabic?

Violence sells. If there is 15 seconds of violence in a protest that 15 seconds will be replayed every 15 seconds on CNN. The peaceful hours of the protest gets little or no coverage and mention. MSNBC covers the peaceful parts.

Maybe it was just the parts I caught while flipping between channels, but on XNN the same seconds of violence was shown over and over again. MSNBC showed what was going on otherwise.

Good example. A point of argument. Finding an exception does not outweigh a general comment.

Virginia today. Who got the press coverage?

From a nation of hundreds of millions only a few thousand could be gathered to support the white nationalist cause. Of those few thousand only a few got violent. Those few got all the air time and press coverage.

Where did the Watt riots take place?

Exactly the same as the meeting of asses (Pro White vs Progressives) in Charlottesville, VA the other day.  If the rally had been let run its course, no big deal, about as much excitement as anti-violence rallies in big cities like Chicago where no one really gives a rat's butt.

The violence was not spontaneous. It was premeditated. They came prepared for it. No ... planning it.
