Mobile grooming vans have advantages and disadvantages, depending on you and your pet.

If anyone has ever used a Mobile Groomer for your pet, how did that work out for you?

because i am mostly housebound i have used Wash and Roll a mobile pet service that does both dogs and cats. In fact for awhhile i had a groomer named Tabby.

There is a fee to get them to come to you, a gas and transit fee. It isn't very much and it is fair for what they do.

I had a Persian mix cat whose fur matted easily and they did a good job on him. he was done in my parking lot and he came back fluffy and pretty and they had no trouble with him.

With my current long haired cat i asked  for him to have a bath and brush and they said he scratched the groomer, was not dirty enough for a bath, and i was pleased with their work but not their attitude.

I was never allowed to go look in their van either with my cat there or without.

I would have liked to see what they had but that never happened.

i have not called them since my current cat does  not mat and he does not get dirty.  I may if i need specific care like a sanitary trim or a shave. So far we haven't needed those things.

A groomer should allow escorted customers to look at the facility when no animals are present.  Were I running such a service and it was a good one, I'd be proud to show it off.

Local one in my parts uses a really neat trailer system, smallish but heavy looking four wheeled trailer with built in plumbing so no drainage on the ground.

I agree that a mobile groomer should be happy to show off the inside of their truck when there is no other pet inside to bother. I would understand if they did not want the owner present during the grooming process itself.

they have self contained water system too which is nice and no problems with the management here.

i always wondered why they would not let me look and yet they never did.

they did a good job so i decided to let it go.
