Teaching old (and young) cats new tricks to make them more adoptable

Cats doing high fives and head bumps?

Felines "sitting" like dogs? Coming when called? Even jumping through hoops?

Some cat owners might say "huh?" Even, "no way."

But volunteers and fosters at three metro Detroit animal rescues are mewing “yes, way.”

They were selected by The Jackson Galaxy Project to participate in the spring semester of Cat Pawsitive or Cat Pawsitive Pro, an initiative that introduces positive reinforcement training to cats in shelters and rescues in hopes of getting them adopted.

Cats are particularly difficult to get adopted from animal shelters.
