No Mexico itself is not a poor country but the vast majority of the people are poor. I went to a private school (secondary) run by nuns back in the sixties era and we had students from Mexico, and Central and South America up here to learn English and they were all from wealthy families and their fathers were in the oil business. These girls were never free in Mexico and the other countries and the only freedom that they had was here in Canada but they went out with our Canadian girls and stayed together. We have a Mexican family on our street and have a nice bungalow and the wife babysits some of the kids in the area and the man works on construction. I noticed the mother of the woman or her husband came up for a visit for a while and I haven't seen her afterwards. These people are liked in the neighborhood. Canada gets the Mexicans from Mexico to work in the fields (agriculture) and then to go back home. Some are very hard workers and some others are lazy. Poverty breeds in families everywhere. I have grown up around French Canadians mixed with Indian whose families were 18, 20 and 21 and 22 kids and they all had their own baseball teams without having to search for more players. Honestly it was grinding poverty where the kids had to leave school and go and work at whatever they can find to help the family survive. I remember the days when we would see them come back from second hand shops for clothing and for food.

What I got from Nelley's enjoyable blogging and online diary and poetry, she endless wrote about her life as a kid, is that her close family (sisters and parents) hate her as an artist and being a spontaneous poet, they hate her helping out other artists into the limelight in spite of everything she does as an ARTIST for helself, and most likely it's one of them sending hate-mail!
NOT BOTH PARENTS, only her DAD was harsh on Nelly being an artist- her mom encouraged to pursue her art, anyway both parents are deceased now, I read that a lot of times about in her French poetry, you've missed it because she wrote that part in French!

The Mexicans are good people but we don't need a million of them here when our economy is so bad.

Yes Danny Thomas founded St. Jude Hospital and it is world wide even in Lebanon. Danny did a lot of good when he was alive making us all laugh and doing good deeds for those in need.

Nobody needs millions of foreigners on their backs and bringing in disease and raping people and costing other governments tons of money. I agree 100% and more with Trump and he should think about what to do with our Canadian border as well because we have plenty of people here who are not documented as well as other nationalities from eveywhere who can do a great deal of harm to us and to the US and anywhere else. There are many open areas that are uninhabited by people and mostly forest but people can go through from country to country if they know how to get around. Trump should become aware of all of this. Our Canadian people are not desperate to go to the US but it is the foreign people who are desperate and this is what he had to realize. Many of our border agents are paid to look the other way and there has to be very strict people on the borders everywhere. Mexicans are like the Middle Easterners in mentality and are mighty corrupt. You can't take anybody at face value at all. The days when we were able to go over to the US for a couple of hours and shop and have something to eat without all the hastle are long gone. The world has changed way too much.

No not at all but they share the same temperament that is for sure. Did you know the man that played on MASH as Cpl. Klinger is Lebanese from Toledo Ohio? Jamie Farr real name Jamil Farrah was good friends with Danny Thomas.

Yes that sure is true. I remember when my husband's nephew was in Los Angeles with his wife and kids the authorities thought that he was Mexican since those people do look alike and was thrown to the ground and questioned. My daughter went down to LA back in 1994 to visit him and LA was not to her liking. My daughter was 14 at the time and was on American Airlines all alone since Dani fixed it that way and my husband gave him hell that she should have been accompanied by an adult at the time. When my daughter came back to Canada at Dorval Airport which is now Trudeau Airport the customs officials treated her like a runaway and my husband had to go and speak for her. Los Angeles is very artificial because of Hollywood and that is exactly what my daughter came up about unlike other places in the US. Yes the US economy is in dire straights and so is Canada's economy gone down to hell. The stupid politicians make it all out that everything is well when it isn't. The US has more than enough to deal with as it stands now and I sure hope that Trump gets in because he is the best of the lot and the rest are mighty envious of the man.
