Looking forward to when they can actually make the change!

Do you know if they actually ever released the New Horizons stamp?

It doesn't look like they did.

Too bad we can't still mail a letter for that cheap.

I remember when a first class postage was a nickel, and I have some old letters with 5 cent stamps on them. Postage has increased almost 10x since then.

I think I remember 4c purple Lincoln stamps from when I was little. That's pure memory though, which we all know can be faulty!

New Horizons was about 3.7 million miles (6 million kilometers) from Pluto and Charon when it snapped this portrait late on July 8, 2015. Color data from New Horizons' Ralph instrument was added to colorize the image. Credit: NASA/JHUAPL/SWRI

I think I have a couple of old love letters between Grandma and Grandpa stashed away that have 3 cent stamps on them. There's some other old letters with 5 cent stamps on them as well. Since there are no heirs for them, I need to start donating or willing a bunch of that stuff to a museum or something so that they don't just vanish into the landfill once I'm gone.

Although there's some stuff with 13 cent stamps on them from my teenage years that went through a shredder and then used for kindling way at least 30 years ago in an effort to try and purge some of the less pleasant parts of the past.

Anticipation. Now I can't get that old Carly Simon song out of my head. The 14th for the closest approach is coming up on Tuesday. Anticipation is making me wait ...

I shudder to think what my son will find in my teenage letters. The thought of shocking him after my death is kind of titillating.
