At least 35 people are dead after separate attacks on a cattle market and a humanitarian convoy in Burkina Faso during a particularly violent weekend in the volatile country.

Send David Cameron to fix what he broke.

Do you actually read the URLs related to what you post.

Under the section "North African News" you refer to an event supposedly in North Africa.

The term "North Africa" is usualy used to designate that part of Africa which is not Black Africa. Even the picture indicates that this event is in what is considered "West Africa" and a part of "Black" not "North" Africa. Another way of looking at this since what is "North Africa" consists of generally accepted named states of which "Burkina Faso" is not, and South Africa usually refers to those states that were British colonies, this would put Burkina Faso, formerly a French coloney, as part of Central Africa.

Qestion: what does David Cameron have to do with this?

David Cameron liberated vast quantities of arms into the hands of jihadis in North Africa.

Boko Haram may be partly caused by climate change and desertification - but its all those assault rifles that have really devastated the region.

I did not want to create a single post thread devoted to Burkina Faso.

Here is is on a map.

I realize that "down under" perhaps produces a different context. But in the real world there are established criteria, where in this case there are two Africas, Black Africa and North Africa which is not Black in consists of West Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa which is the way most of the world looks at Africa. North Africa  consists of Muslim Countries, Black Africa, while having countries with Muslim influence is a mixture of traditional indigenous religions, along with Europeal colonial influence, not to mention cultural differences between North and the rest of Africa. As regardsBurkina Faso, it is generally referred to as within the subset of West Africa no matter how far north it looks to you.

Essentially what has happened her, in your usual mode of trying to juggle too many topics while not really understanding them, had you really red and understood this article you would not have assigned it to North Africa. Ot is OK to be ignorant, however education is not about what you know (or think you know) but about the ability to know what you don´t know and then how to find out.

I'm not going to create a topic called news from Black Africa.

And the ability to take in new things and adjust your beliefs accordingly.

There is, as you say, a sharp line across most of Africa, from the Atlantic to the Nile, with sharp differences either side (can be categorised by religion though I'm not entirely convinced by that).

However, the current story is how we've imposed chaos and suffering on the North and the arms released there have trafficked into Black Africa to devastate it.

Interesting area. Largely abandoned by the colonialists but having immense trouble recovering.

Good example of a misuse of the concept of P.C.

In theory PC should be determined by politeness, and should not be an excuse to hide one´s prejudices or biases.

"Black Africa" is a standard term understood by most educated people as referring to that part of Africa that is South of the Sahara Desert.

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/black-africa ]

However if Jennifer´s reverse racism finds this offensive there is anothr way of dividing Africa in referring to the divisions as "North Africa" and "Sub-Saharan Africa" standard term used by the U.N. Here are three maps, which definitely put Jennifer´s little problem in Black or Sub-Saharan Africa based on definitions by the U.N., Geography, and Arab League states, climactic, which most educated people would understand (all slightly different, but non including Jenifer´s error.
