"Australia's milling companies switch to 24-hour operations and add new staff to keep up with the demand that saw supermarket shelves around the country stripped of all flour as people rediscovered the "lost art of baking".

Still plenty of premium/speciality flours in UK supermarkets, (if they normally stock them!) Very little of the common bread flours. Fortunately, I'd just bought in a few months supply before the virus struck.

There's optimism that a vaccine will be developed but no guarantee.  We may be in a sort of limbo for years until so many people have survived Covid-19 that there's general immunity.

This is where the argument to just abandon social distancing altogether has merit.

As long as those infected promise not to go to a hospital.

It's how any organism deals with a pathogen. It survives or it doesn't. and the survivors pass on their genes and perhaps some residual immunity  to the next generation.

In modern civilisation, that's very wasteful of human life, so I hope we find a vaccine or a cure.
