No. Is New Zealand? Australia? Singapore? Thailand? Iceland? Taiwan?
What about Cambodia? Vietnam?
The USA is ranked the WORST at handling COVID.
Ahead of Brazil, India, Mexico and the UK.
How long are you going to keep blaming China and look to what went wrong on American soil?

singapore, thailand, taiwan, are mostly populated by asians. In the asian cultures there is always a natural social distancing. Physical contact is not their favored way of showing respect. They also speak in muted tones which does not spread the aerosols as rapidly. Most other countries are singular government entities with one single authority and not made up of 50+ states and territories with 50 different governors and hundreds of mayors who make the rules.

I'm going to ask, one more time, what did President Trump do, or fail to do, that caused 50 governors and hundreds of mayors to make bad decisions on the handling of this crisis. We are one of the few countries in the world that allows our many regions full autonomy outside of the limited Constitutional powers of the federal government.
As to china? My GOD! They broke every rule in this pandemic. Preventing w.h.o. scientists access in clear violation of charter rules? Waiting a month to quarantine ground zero? banning domestic travel while encouraging international travel?
Yea,.................. china's not responsible................ Sheesh!

Your analysis of why Asian countries handled the pandemic well does not factor in New Zealand, Australia and Iceland.

One example - making the states fight each other for PPE.

The new strain has largely been sequenced and shared from the UK, but two cases have been found in Australia, writes Lucy van Dorp.

Nope! However, I have shown that President Trump was not the cause of our problems. The federal government has no power to force governors, mayors, to bend to it's will. And, what good would have done, anyway? There is no state that has instituted more draconian restrictions than california. Yet, as of yesterday, there were 47 states with fewer new cases over the previous 7 days; https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#cases_casesper100klast7days

What choice did he have, at the time? Did the democrat Congress grant him the power to intercede? Did obama leave the reserve ppe full when he left office, or 75% depleted? (before you cite those two years he was President you'll need to show that he should have known they were depleted. No President knows everything)
It's clear that you're another one who would complain, if Donald Trump found a cure for cancer, that he was despicably putting doctors out of work.

Really? When?
US hospitals treating COVID-19 patients rarely allow healthy people on their wards. But the health workers at this Reno hospital are so sick of hoax claims and scepticism about coronavirus, they invited the ABC to spend the day with them.

It'll be all over the place by now because it's so infectious. A lot of countries have closed passenger traffic from the UK but they're far too late. We KNOW we have a very large number of cases because we test exhaustively and we've built up our genomic testing facilities over the last year. We won't get any info on whether it is more deadly or can resist vaccines until the labs report the results of their experiments but we will know soon. Hopefully greater infectivity will be it's only difference from the old virus, which is being rapidly replaced in the UK by this mutation.

Check mate!
The coronavirus has landed in Antarctica, the last continent previously free from COVID-19, Chile's military said this week, as health and army officials scrambled to clear out and quarantine staff from a remote research station surrounded by ocean and icebergs.

Told you!!
Looking at the massive increase in cases in the SE of the UK and London, this is a very infectious version of the virus. Let's hope that's the only negative and that the virus doesn't become more dangerous or resistant to vaccines.
Have just heard a scientist explain why this virus is more infectious. He says that the typical swab from cases of this mutation contain anything up to 100x the viruses of a normal Covid swab. The assumption is that people with the new version are shedding viruses at a vastly higher rate and that's why it's spreading so quickly.
Not good news, I'm afraid.
