This thread is devoted to every attempt of Berry to hijack a discussion.

I will repost the offending item here, with the (intended) topic of the discussion.

This is purely for my own curiosity.

Post Pandemic World.

Jenifer (Zarknorph) said:

Going on the assumption that the virus was born naturally in a Wuhan market - what were the systemic failures that resulted in 3.5 million people infected and 250,000 deaths (so far).

Only the same things that we're doing - silencing doctors whistle-blowing serious failures. Except we do it much more aggressively than the Chinese!

Jenifer (Zarknorph) said:

Then the topic is over for you.  If you point blank refuse to accept it, there is no point discussing it any further.

I'm looking again at the David Irving business.

Non German speaking Richard Evans insists that German speaking David Irving has maliciously mis-translated this:

"'Hold back the police' was absolutely wrong as a translation of the German Poiizei zurackziehen: its proper translation was: 'withdraw the police'."

I'm not saying that Evans is wrong on this one - I'm just thinking that (like many of the other things Irving was accused of) we're doing the same thing (in this case, mis-translating) all the time.

UN: Israel tortures detained Palestinian children

PM attacks 'hypocritical' human rights organizations

Not me that's quoting tittle-tattle, BM.

I quote top Zionist sources describing Israeli soldiers as brutes - even torture kiddies.

Takes brave men to do that!

Here we have the right-wing Jerusalem Post reporting it fairly straight down the line:

Jun 20, 2013 ... The watchdog's 18 independent experts examined Israel's record of compliance with a 1990 treaty as part of its regular review of a pact signed by all nations except Somalia and the United States. An Israeli delegation attended the session.

... accused Israeli forces on Thursday of mistreating Palestinian children, including by torturing those in custody and using others as human shields.

Palestinian children in the Gaza and the West Bank, captured by Israel in the 1967 war, are routinely denied registration of their birth and access to health care, decent schools and clean water, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child said.

"Palestinian children arrested by (Israeli) military and police are systematically subject to degrading treatment, and often to acts of torture, are interrogated in Hebrew, a language they did not understand, and sign confessions in Hebrew in order to be released," it said in a report.

... The UN committee regretted Israel's "persistent refusal" to respond to requests for information on children in the Palestinian territories and occupied Syrian Golan Heights since the last review in 2002.

Yahoo reported the same story - but only questioned whether its fair to point the finger at a country with no borders!

The Post-Pandemic World.  Posted after I was asked if this could be posted, and said no.

Jenifer (Zarknorph) said:

No. Thank you for asking.

The good news is that David Irving was indeed (and seen to be in court, no stitchup) to be in Denial of the Holocaust. And to be seriously dishonest about it (something I have always been very careful to point out whenever the topic arises!)

Now, what he did is not a crime - but its very disturbing in anyone publishing "history" and of course it vindicates Deborah Lipstadt calling him a Holocaust Denier. Strongly linked to racism - though that's so widespread and tolerated I don't see how anyone can protest.

Importantly, Irving didn't just get this way when he was old and cranky (and finding his career destroyed by a campaign - something he mysteriously failed to prove) but he was falsifying history right from the beginning of his career with his book on the Dresden bombing. His first publisher was protesting his lies and forcing changes on that first book. Later publishers may have been more tolerant.

After Brentwood he went to Imperial College, London to study science, but he believes he was thwarted by a "Communist" professor ... "I was the only foreign labourer in the whole of the Ruhr," ... began to hear whispers of another taboo ... the Germans told him their city - filled with civilians, with little military role - had been firebombed by the Allies ... So he wrote his first history book, a densely researched account of the firebombing of Dresden. Suddenly he was an up-and-coming historian, acclaimed across continents.

But he remained within the historical consensus: the book condemns Nazi atrocities. When I remind Irving of this now, he says these passages were inserted into the book without his knowledge. "My publisher William Kimber? felt very deeply about the Dresden air raid and he put in certain lines into my Dresden book without telling me. Okay?" He only realised this, he insists, "years later." I must look incredulous. You didn't see the proofs? "No." Why would he do that? "Political correctness. Don't raise your eyebrows in great shock, this happens. You'd be surprised if you knew how many people have a hand in a book before it's finally published, lawyers, publishers, editors' sisters and wives." Ah yes, women.

(Listening on the radio this morning, the film "A Bridge too far", the story of trying and failing to seize bridges including Arnhem in Holland 17th to 25th September 1944, is quite distorted according to the "technical advisor" who was not allowed to change anything. Hence "A countless number of veterans have urged me to ignore most of the story in the film A Bridge Too Far".[8]" - Wacky. Unfortunately, I didn't catch any of it and it doesn't matter - just a reminder that winners get to distort whatever they like, it must be quite rare for the "losers" even to attempt this).

A discussion about Michael Flynn

Michael Flynn pleaded guilty two years ago to lying to the FBI shortly before Mr Trump took office.

So much like Hitler bending the judicial system to his will.

Yeah - and the IDF is right torturing children.
Abdel Raouf al-Balawi, 13, said that being released from Israeli prison “felt like I was leaving hell and being welcomed into paradise.”

Stone-throwing is commonly carried out by Israeli soldiers in agent provcateur mode.

Torture victims Include Christian children as this one seems to have been.

13-year-old “leaves hell” of Israeli detention

2 April 2018 - Abdel Raouf al-Balawi, 13, said that being released from Israeli prison “felt like I was leaving hell and being welcomed into paradise.” ... the family’s home in Bethlehem’s Dheisheh refugee camp.

... On Tuesday, 27 March, Abdel Raouf was released ... Abdel Raouf was one of the youngest Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.

“I felt so much pain”

He was detained during a 10 December protest in Bethlehem against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

According to Abdel Raouf, at least 10 soldiers rushed the crowd of protesters and grabbed him.

“One of the soldiers threw me to the ground, and another began beating me on my legs,” he told The Electronic Intifada. “I couldn’t walk for a month because I felt so much pain in my leg from the beating.”

Following his detention, the minor was brought to an interrogation facility in Israel’s Gush Etzion settlement bloc. Like all Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Gush Etzion is illegal under international law.

Hours of interrogations with Israeli authorities followed, Abdel Raouf told The Electronic Intifada, as Israeli officials accused Abdel Raouf of throwing stones at Israeli forces during the protest.

It was five hours before his father was called ... “They showed me a video of the protest and told me that I appeared in it. I kept telling them I was innocent,” he explained.

... And when his father arrived, the interrogators refocused their frustrations on him. ... Abdel Raouf soon confessed to throwing stones at Israeli forces. “I was scared that they would hurt my father, so I confessed,” he said.

Sufch treatment is routine for Palestinians, according to Dawoud Yusef from Addameer, a group campaigning on behalf of prisoners.

Palestinian minors are often forced to sign confessions written in Hebrew, a language most Palestinians in the West Bank do not understand, according to Yusef. Israeli interrogation and detention practices used on Palestinian minors, he added, clearly violate international law.

Abdel Raouf was sentenced to four months in prison on 22 January for throwing stones at Israeli soldiers – the most common charge leveled against Palestinian minors. A $1000 fine was also imposed on him.

... [Shahrazad ... H]er other son, she said, 23-year-old Alaa has been imprisoned for almost a year under administrative detention– the widespread Israeli practice in occupied territory of imprisonment without charge or trial.

Even at the young age of 13, Abdel Raouf is no stranger to Israeli prison and violence. He easily reels off the names of friends and relatives who have been imprisoned or injured by Israel, counting them one by one on his fingers.

According to Addameer, there were 330 Palestinian minors imprisoned by Israel as of February.

Still, he said he was hugely relieved to be out of detention. “It felt like I was leaving hell and being welcomed into paradise when they released me,” he said.

... face serious problems readjusting to school. As a result, Palestinian children who have spent time in Israeli prison experience high dropout rates, Yusef said.

Stephanie, sounds like a London Haji being released from police "investigation" for grooming ten year old girls and being handed multiple upgraded welfare benefits!
