Wet back and in translation mullat or mojado, is used here but not to the same degree of racism because it does not refer to people here but the boat people who risk their lives getting here from Africa. Very dangerous boats, basicly throw aways because they are usually abandoned once they arrive. the majority are Africans who have illegally crossed from Black Africa into the Magreb. If you have seen pictures of illegals rushing the fence in Melilla and Ceuta, the majority are Africans. The Moorish who illegaly enter these cities don´t usually cross the water in little boats. this is because since they are alrady technicly in Europe, there are ways of getting illegal papers which would allow them to fly in or take the ferries. I am not sure of the Muslim connection with the boat people, because the boat operators and "tour guides" are usually Black Africans, but there must be some European or Moroccan connections at their point of departure. The difference is that wet back (r wet packs, or also mojados) in the U.S. usually refers to those who have made it in, and have some illegal settle arrangements. Where as here they are caught by the coastguard off shore, or the Guardia Civil after landing so very few have a chance to settle here. Their aim is usually to fly on or take the ferry to Barcelona or Valencia and disappear in Europe some where. Their problem on Mallorca is for the legal residents hiring or shelterin them is a very serious crime with harsh financial disincentives. If their assistants comes from foreign legal residents, it is automatic deporttion for them and their families. So a Black African here legally would be risking a lot in aiding them. The Brits have a lot of racist expressions and jokes, and I have noticed that most of these I have heard in Scotland are from English, who rationalize this with the traditional joks about English, Irish, Scots, Welsh as if it is a valid tradition to which I answer then why is it always the Englishman who comes out on top. Speaking of which, here is an antiracist Irish joke I like. An Irish nafi approaches the gov in a construction site asking for a job. And is typical the English gov says I´ll have to give you a test (for which the Irish traditionally fails). He says what is the difference between a joist and a girder. The Irishman says, oh that´s simple, Joist was Irish and wrote "Ulysses," and girder was German and wrote "Faust".

Also an example of your wimpy passive-aggressiveness since you are sending a message which can never be responded to because without an example it can never be responded to, sort of a thread hijacking non seq.
Another example of your absolutst thinking is you immature assumption that because this is your interpretation, you feel it is the only one. For example my non response to your imaginary humor might be that while I recognize your feeble attempt at humor, I see behind it a context of fear and frustration which I could document if you provided me with an example. Unless humor is against oneself, it often is a symtom of personal fear, anxiety, nervousness, and misdirected anger.

Another symptom of Zarknorph´s problem is the vast number of subjects she is covering. It as if those she appeals to, or is patronizing, are not expected to follow the news on their own. It would be illogical to expect here to actually read the URLs behind the majority of her posts unless she was a paid full time journalist. Or, on the other hand she is handicaped and home bound with nothing else to do all day but surf the net.
I admid that my net use has picked up duiing the virus but normaly before and after this I would basicly only log on when I get up in the morning or just before I go to bed. Assisted by the woman who works for me, who gets rid of the majority of e-mails before I even see them.

Yes, "everywhere is an acceptable hyperbole in everyday conversation" usually of the uneducated, unintelligent, and careless posters such as yourself. It is not nitpicking to point this out when its inaccurate uses affects the conclusions raised by the statements in which it is made.
It is a common fault of yours and leads to many of the inaccurate pontifications you invent or post from others. However words such as "nitpicking" are simply ad hom name calling from people who are incapable of accepting a valid crit.
In this case a way of avoiding the fact that you probably know that my point is a valid one, but your fragle ego will not allow you to admit it. Similar to an earlier post where you treated Africa as a country in context making your conclusions regarding such to be false.
