Trump vs Democracy   America - all of it

That's a given.  But what is his definition of "not clearly valid"?

No, or illegible postmark. No, or not matching, signature. Arrived after legal deadline.

That is the fault of the postal service in that state.

In my country we have laws. Actual laws, that define what is a legal ballot. Those laws cannot be changed on a whim. If you want your ballot counted, mail it early. Federal law requires the states to mail out absentee ballots 45 days before the election. If you're so irresponsible to wait, even just to the week before the election that's on you!

When is the last time you posted a letter to anyone?  How long did it take to get there?

I mail letter to my grandchildren, in another state 950 miles away, on Mon and they receive it on Wed. We were mailed a package from FL to las vegas on Tues and it was delivered Fr. Our medications are mailed from this city. We always receive them the next day. Please, question any propaganda that is accompanied by no real evidence.

How can you not factor in the systematic dismantling of the postal service prior to the election?

By the fact that it wasn't? Cuts were made, necessary cuts to keep it alive. Service was not significantly affected. Note all the hue and cry that was accompanied by no statistics.

What does an invalid signature look like?

One that does not match the one on record.

How many people get to vote on whether the signature matches, is forged or was signed on an uneven surface, or on a bus that was turning a corner?

Why do you refuse to accept that people are responsible for their actions? That it is not the job of government to coddle them and excuse bad choices. Example, if I choose to wait until the last minute to vote, am involved in a minor traffic accident on the way that causes me to arrive after the polls close, should the officials be required to allow me to vote anyway? We had two full weeks of early voting, here. Many places did. There is no excuse, period.

What if the voter is illiterate?  And before you scoff...

21 percent of US citizens are considered illiterate.

Then they can find help! For God's sake, jenifer, is our government supposed to be everyone's babysitter?

If you REALLY want your vote to be counted, then scrap the stupid Electoral college system!

When 2/3ds of the Congress and 3/4ths of the states agree to do so it will be scrapped. Hold your breath, jenifer. After all, this is OUR country, not yours!

Again, the fact that the ballots are not postmarked is not evidence of intent to commit fraud.  It is evidence of incompetence.

AGAIN (sorry to shout, but you're reading between the lines, instead of the words on the lines, again), the law states that they must be postmarked by a certain date and time. Only the state legislatures are allowed to change that law. Period.

Let's say you live in a state that doesn't postmark the ballot.  If you wrote "November 1st" next to the stamp, then posted it - it arrives on November 6th - would you consider than "valid"?

What the law says, the law passed before the election, must be adhered to. Otherwise we become a nation of men, and not laws. Every American is responsible to return their ballot in a timely manner. They had those ballots for at least 35 days! Why should any ballot arrive after election day itself?

There was also the absolute MESS involving ballot drop off boxes.

Where? I've seen no evidence that any ballots put in drop boxes were not delivered to election headquarters in any state. Have you? Is propaganda enough for you? Do you subscribe, as our democrat fascists surely do, to "guilt by accusation"?

Note that none of your propaganda stories (guilt by accusation) contain any statistics which show any significant slowdown in mail delivery from the time those necessary cuts were made. Or, not, you do have free choice, after all.

How old were you when you first registered to vote?

Do me one favour and sign your name, then try to find any document that has your signature on it from at least 20 years ago.

Are they EXACTLY the same?

I am grateful for that every day of my life.

In one of the counties in Texas there was ONE ballot drop box for 4 million people.

That is evidence of a mess.

18. I have voted overseas in the military, and in 16 different voting districts in my lifetime.

What is the law? Apparently you have no respect for the law. One can re-register at any time if they wish. Oh, wait, it's the nanny state that is responsible for everything in our lives, isn't it? Personal responsibility is a terrible burden to place upon people. Who CARES if nefarious people are allowed access to blank ballots and security envelopes (hundreds of thousands were sent to every registered voters address in NV where that voter did not live. Easy to gather up) and can simply fill them out as they wish and put them in the mail. THE MAIL? Just how secure is your postal service?

I am grateful for that every day of my life.

As am I! It's people like you that have helped our identity politics grow into the divisive monster it has now become. Black vs white and asian, poor vs rich, college educated vs not, women vs men, etc, etc, etc. We already have too many of your view in this country already.

How so? In 2016 8,903,037 people voted in the Presidential election. In 2020 that number dropped to only 11,241,319 That's a more than 25% INCREASE!

You really need a good course in logic, jennifer! But, of course, you might not be allowed in the circle of liberal socialist dupes if it took.
