They did exactly what they wanted. They wanted terrorists to weaken China so it would eventually break up but China subdued the Uighur terrorists anyway and put them in reeducation camps. Now the Chinese are accused of genocide and most in the West believe China is committing genocide despite the fact that those in the camps are terrorists or terrorist supporters.

If you have eleven million Uighurs, you are going to have some who support fundamentalist Islam and want to spread it. Those are the ones that you want reeducated and taught that laws in China must be followed.

China is a Communist country so it can't discriminate against any ethnicity, practically by definition. Read the lyrics to the Internationale. The only race is the human race.
