"He never had standards or morals, as far as I know."
All human societies have morals and standards, even though they're very different from our values today. Gengis Khan was shaped by his upbringing.

Geochemical testing indicates that 50 of Stonehenge's 52 pale-gray sandstone megaliths share a common origin at a site about 25 kilometres away, but how the 9-metre, 27-tonne 'sarsens' were moved remains anyone's guess.

Two a penny in Egypt. They'd rot away in the UK and there'd be almost nothing left.

I always wonder where the line is between archaeology and grave desecration.

At the moment, preparation is going on for a High Speed train line from London to Birmingham. There are vast numbers of archaeologists surveying and excavating right along the route because that's the law. They have already cleared one 18thC London cemetery of 60,000 graves and they've nearly cleared another in Birmingham of 50,000 graves.
Every grave is carefully excavated and the human remains identified where possible and examined for what we can learn from them, then they're stored until they can be reinterred in holy ground. One of the graves they excavated in London was that of Sir Matthew Flinders, whose name you will be familiar with. They also excavated the family tomb of the Christie family who set up the auction house in London.
This is archaeology. It would be desecration if the cemeteries had all been bulldozed.
