Well, that's just fine and dandy. Here's one that I found particularly edifying . . .
Many longtime liberals find themselves bewildered at the continued antics of the Democrats at a time when they have a real, albeit small, window of opportunity to demonstrate that they have some acquaintance with the art of responsible governance. Thoughtful people like law professors Jonathan Turley and Alan Dershowitz, who understand that the nation’s polity will be far healthier if both major parties approach real issues seriously, are unable to understand why so few Democrats see that the perpetuation of puerile nihilism driven by unabated hatred of President Trump will end in disaster. Turley puts it thus:
In this age of rage, voters seem to have no patience, let alone need, for leaders speaking of abstract principles. They want immediate unequivocal action.… For Democrats, that all consuming purpose has led to the abandonment of core unifying values, including many that first drew me to the Democratic Party.
The explanation for this loss of the party’s soul to an unquenchable and wholly emotional desire to destroy Trump is captured in a one-sentence observation by Cicero with which Turley is certainly familiar: “Those who do not know history will forever remain children.” There is very little chance that the kindergartners of the Democratic resistance would recognize Turley’s allusion to the fabled “Days of Rage.” Nor do they grasp that their collective tantrum and lurch to the left is reminiscent of that which eventually produced the suicidal Democratic nomination of George McGovern and President Nixon’s 1972 landslide.
Thus, like so many angry children, nothing less than Donald Trump’s head on a platter will mollify them. It doesn’t matter to this bumptious brood that someone has to produce at least a plausible case proving his guilt of the “crimes and misdemeanors” without which no majority in the House of Representatives will try to impeach the President. This is what Alan Dershowitz, who leans farther to the left than Turley, has been trying to tell anyone who will listen, but that’s an ever shrinking audience in the media. Most want to hear that Trump is going down. In a recent discussion with Joe Concha for the Hill, he said:
I used to be, for example, on CNN more often than on Fox. I was a regular, not paid, but just a person who was on all the time debating with Toobin, debating with others…. I haven’t been on CNN, now, since the summer, and Fox calls me all the time.… I’d love to be available to people who watch all channels.”
But Dershowitz is in the unfortunate habit of dealing in realities not well suited for les enfants en colère. They want Trump impeached pursuant to the meandering Mueller investigation. Unfortunately for them, that farce is unlikely to do the job or it would have been leaked to the media by now. What about Flynn? What about the great Cohen bust? The Flynn plea was obviously a piece of FBI legerdemain whereby they entrapped him using a law designed to manufacture crimes rather than detect them and there’s nothing there than can hurt Trump. As to Cohen, this is what Dershowitz has been trying to explain:
Or to put it in starkly simplistic terms . . .
Donald Trump is the horseman or the RIDER that rides upon the Red Horse of Apocalypse as is written in Revelation 6: v.4: "And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to HIM that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword". (Sword means voice, speech, in this case evil sword)
The RIDER of the red horse - Trump - is already free to go around the earth taking peace from the earth.
Now he has been known by all the nations of the earth, and the whole world is already being tormented by the horseman of red horse with his performance and strong world power and what is written will fulfil literally. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth - Revelation 12:v.12.
Now, even now and only now, we entered really in the time of Apocalypse, that is the seventh and Last Day, such as was planned by the Word - the Word is God - in the beginning for the restoration of all things. One Day with the Lord is as a thousand years.
On the other hand, the RIDER of the white horse also is already running the world, in fulfilment Revelation 19:v.11-16 , he Judges and will make War against the other three evil RIDERS, against the RIDERS of the red horse, and black horse and pale horse.
Well, others two horses and respective evil RIDERS MUST manifest without further delay, then there will be greats punishments over the nations, only and only punishments.
There will be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever will be, as prophesied Daniel: 12:v.1 and JESUS: Mat.24:15-25.
And except these days be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake from now on these days will be shortened.
New Year Resolution
Is it possible that Trump's corruption is the shining beacon?
I believe you that corruption is rampant!
On both sides.
US President Donald Trump has refused to budge over his demand for billions of dollars to build a wall along the border with Mexico, with Democratic congressional leaders likewise holding firm on their refusal to fund the scheme, sending a partial US government shutdown into its 12th day.
After meeting today in the high-security Situation Room at the White House, the President and Republican and Democratic representatives will on Friday (local time) again come together in an attempt to find a solution to the stalemate.
The President made his case for wall funding anew ahead of the session with Democratic and Republican leaders, pointing to migrants arriving at the border in recent days, but indicated he was in no rush for a resolution to the impasse.
He said the border was "like a sieve" and referred to US officials recently firing tear gas at those trying to cross to the US.
He described border officials as "very tough" at keeping immigrants out.
"If they knew they couldn't come through, they wouldn't even start," Mr Trump said at a meeting joined by Cabinet secretaries and top advisers.
The Cabinet meeting was the President's first public appearance of the new year as the shutdown dragged into its second week, leaving hundreds of thousands of federal employees without pay.
So far, the administration has rejected a proposal from Democrats to re-open government services without money to build a wall along the US-Mexico border.
The President "wants an agreement that reopens the government AND keeps Americans safe," the White House said on Twitter.
Mr Trump contended the Democrats see the shutdown fight as "an election point" as he celebrated his own first two years in office. He promised "six more years of great success".
The briefing with congressional leaders took place one day before Democrats will assume control of the House and end the Republican monopoly on the Government.
Democrats said they asked Mr Trump directly during the private meeting why he would not consider their package of bills aimed at ending the shutdown.
"I said, 'Mr President, give me one good reason why you should continue your shutdown'," Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer said afterward.
"He could not give a good answer."
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, who is expected to become Speaker on Thursday (local time), said Democrats would take action to "end the Trump Shutdown" by immediately passing legislation to reopen government.
"We are giving the Republicans the opportunity to take yes for an answer," she wrote in a letter to colleagues.
"Senate Republicans have already supported this legislation, and if they reject it now, they will be fully complicit in chaos and destruction of the President's third shutdown of his term."
Mr Trump's aides suggested there would not necessarily be a traditional wall as he has repeatedly insisted since his presidential campaign, but he contradicted them.
On Tuesday morning, Mr Trump tweeted: "The Democrats, much as I suspected, have allocated no money for a new Wall. So imaginative! The problem is, without a Wall there can be no real Border Security."
The Republican-led Senate will not consider Democratic funding bills that do not include Mr Trump's demand for $5 billion for a border wall, US Senate leader Mitch McConnell said.
"The Senate will not waste its time considering a Democratic bill which cannot pass this chamber and which the President will not sign," Mr McConnell said on the Senate floor.
Even if only symbolic, the passage of the bills in the House would put fresh pressure on the President.
But Mr Trump said he would keep the government partially shut for "as long as it takes" to secure funding for the border wall.
Administration officials said he believed he had public opinion and his base on his side. The Democratic package to end the shutdown would include one bill to temporarily fund the Department of Homeland Security at current levels — with $1.3 billion for border security, far less than the $5 billion Mr Trump has said he wants fo
True enough. The Ruling Establishment in America is so opposed to President Trump because he openly stands in opposition to them. This is also why freedom loving Americans stand with him despite all his personality, um, 'flaws.'
Do try to consider that reality is not what you read or hear from the usual
