The LGBT fight is taking time for people to grasp their case , for those that are Homophobic this is generational , it is religious based and it is also based on their own fear as maybe seen as Pro Gay with all that label carries .
A true story with the events happening at the moment - a Liberal Jewish Synagogue in the North of England is welcoming people of all Gender and Sexual preferences , one of the applicants is a Gent who likes to wear dresses (nearly all the time) he tried to join the Orthodox Synagogue where they politely told him that he could attend dressed as a man ONLY , he declined their offer ....
Upon attending the Liberal Synagogue (he is in the process of converting to Judaism - he must be nuts) during the service and later question time he asked the Rabbi whether it was possible for a transgender person could become a Rabbi ....
Sitting within the congregation were many long time congregants who took umbridge at the question and later complained to the Rabbi .. the upshot of this is that the local gay community caused trouble for the Synagogue because of the objection of some of the Congregants .
So life is neither black or white and if you are asking if he can become a Rabbi the answer is no (unless he dresses as a man which he is admant he wont or cant )
