These backpacks are for children, not university students.

Well, until he became a university freshman, he was a child, from kindergarten through 12th grade, in Newtown, CT schools.  He was in 3rd grade when the shooting happened.  NONE of his classmates ever wore a bulletproof backpack to school, that he was aware of.

All I can tell you is that they exist.

Yet, you forward a post stating they are a staple.  These kinds of "news" stories are generated to get readers, period.

I remember that one.  Powerful satire.

I wish this were satire. They actually sell guns to bullies like this guy.

Remember #Occupy?

When folks would take their families out to a park for a protest?

And your whole family would run into a band of heavily armed paramilitary bullies?

All those families with children and the cops in the background wondering whether or not the bullies might massacre the innocent families in the park protesting.

Whether or not they are commonly used in America is kind of a moot point.

The fact is, they exist.

A company saw a market and made this product.

It's evil and it preys upon fear.  All the while making a profit from it.

There was another one in Nashville just this morning.

Fortunately, it appears that nobody died this time.
