A former member of the UK Government's scientific advisory group says Britain took the right measures against coronavirus but did so too late.

Probably true in hindsight.  Unfortunately, the scientific consensus at that time was that coronavirus infections were doubling only every 5 to 7 days so a lock down wasn't recommended.

They've since discovered the virus was doubling every 2 to 3 days. They didn't know that at the time.
