As for being an idiot, he is one of the few who have both won a scholarship to Eton and also won a scholarship to Bailiol College, Oxford.

And Tony Abbot was a Rhodes Scholar.

But he was still a first class idiot.

There is a BIG gap between getting into a good school and wisdom.

They're hardly comparable.

These are the criteria for Rhodes scholars:

his literary and scholastic attainments
his fondness of and success in manly outdoor sports such as cricket, football and the like
his qualities of manhood, truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for the protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness, and fellowship
his exhibition during school days of moral force of character and of instincts to lead and to take an interest in his schoolmates for those latter attributes will be likely in after-life to guide him to esteem the performance of public duty as his highest aim

Adwil is one of the VERY few who will check his facts before posting he is respected in all forums

As to COVID it would appear that most countries follow most countries as nobody has a real clue what to do , each day here in Israel it changes each day a new tit bit gets added subtracted and or divided

Do this don’t do this , get that don’t get that , be here not there and so on , for mankind this is a new set of problems which like most in the past we will eventually pass , Johnson a fool he is not .

He deliberately messes up his hair before appearances in order to create an air of affable incompetence.

Then we underestimate his abilities, so that when he manages to accomplish something - we're far more impressed with his success than he deserves.

Perhaps he is not a fool, but the Brits are?

He could appear in his Y Fronts with skid marks and he would go down well , he has offered an alternative to the stuff shirt brigade that the Tories usually turn out and the Oxfam look that Labour specialize in .

"Then we underestimate his abilities, so that when he manages to accomplish something - we're far more impressed with his success than he deserves."

I watched his cross examination yesterday by all the Heads of the various Commons  Select Committees. 2 hours of difficult questions from political opponents and allies. He sailed through it and demonstrated that he knew what his Gov's policy was in all areas raised and was able to explain the rationale of the policies too. Throughout he remained calm, polite and affable.

It's to his advantage if opponents underestimate him or assert that he's a bumbling idiot.  Diss him at your peril.
