Strategic interests have nothing 2 do with why we go to war. We go to war because War creates jobs and wealth.  

We create the reasons and then propagandize them until the People cave.

FDR's only purpose in going to war was to assure his legacy as a strong leader.  The 10 year great depression was the catalyst and Winston Churchill knew that...it was easy to sell our participation in WW 2.

There's some mystery - Germany had the depression a lot worse, 30% unemployed and Hitler pulled them straight out - by enslaving those without jobs, as far as I can tell. Now, he also militarised - did that help to bring an end to depression?

Whereas FDR had no such success - and the US military, for the only time in its entire history, stopped fighting from 1935 to 1940. Y'know, that well known time of International Peace and Security.

Seems so. There is some evidence that FDR allowed Pearl Harbor to happen.

That part is most certainly true. With Trump in power (even though its not clear he really wants war) the propaganda has reached levels we've never known.

Countries do not go to war to create Jobs , try as you may to convince yourself .

Countries go to war when their strategic / national interests are perceived to be threatened

Israel goes to war because beating robbing and killing people from their lands and homes has worked so well for them for their entire history.
