Abdel Raouf al-Balawi, 13, said that being released from Israeli prison “felt like I was leaving hell and being welcomed into paradise.”

Stone-throwing is commonly carried out by Israeli soldiers in agent provcateur mode.

Torture victims Include Christian children as this one seems to have been.

13-year-old “leaves hell” of Israeli detention

2 April 2018 - Abdel Raouf al-Balawi, 13, said that being released from Israeli prison “felt like I was leaving hell and being welcomed into paradise.” ... the family’s home in Bethlehem’s Dheisheh refugee camp.

... On Tuesday, 27 March, Abdel Raouf was released ... Abdel Raouf was one of the youngest Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.

“I felt so much pain”

He was detained during a 10 December protest in Bethlehem against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

According to Abdel Raouf, at least 10 soldiers rushed the crowd of protesters and grabbed him.

“One of the soldiers threw me to the ground, and another began beating me on my legs,” he told The Electronic Intifada. “I couldn’t walk for a month because I felt so much pain in my leg from the beating.”

Following his detention, the minor was brought to an interrogation facility in Israel’s Gush Etzion settlement bloc. Like all Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Gush Etzion is illegal under international law.

Hours of interrogations with Israeli authorities followed, Abdel Raouf told The Electronic Intifada, as Israeli officials accused Abdel Raouf of throwing stones at Israeli forces during the protest.

It was five hours before his father was called ... “They showed me a video of the protest and told me that I appeared in it. I kept telling them I was innocent,” he explained.

... And when his father arrived, the interrogators refocused their frustrations on him. ... Abdel Raouf soon confessed to throwing stones at Israeli forces. “I was scared that they would hurt my father, so I confessed,” he said.

Sufch treatment is routine for Palestinians, according to Dawoud Yusef from Addameer, a group campaigning on behalf of prisoners.

Palestinian minors are often forced to sign confessions written in Hebrew, a language most Palestinians in the West Bank do not understand, according to Yusef. Israeli interrogation and detention practices used on Palestinian minors, he added, clearly violate international law.

Abdel Raouf was sentenced to four months in prison on 22 January for throwing stones at Israeli soldiers – the most common charge leveled against Palestinian minors. A $1000 fine was also imposed on him.

... [Shahrazad ... H]er other son, she said, 23-year-old Alaa has been imprisoned for almost a year under administrative detention– the widespread Israeli practice in occupied territory of imprisonment without charge or trial.

Even at the young age of 13, Abdel Raouf is no stranger to Israeli prison and violence. He easily reels off the names of friends and relatives who have been imprisoned or injured by Israel, counting them one by one on his fingers.

According to Addameer, there were 330 Palestinian minors imprisoned by Israel as of February.

Still, he said he was hugely relieved to be out of detention. “It felt like I was leaving hell and being welcomed into paradise when they released me,” he said.

... face serious problems readjusting to school. As a result, Palestinian children who have spent time in Israeli prison experience high dropout rates, Yusef said.

Stephanie, sounds like a London Haji being released from police "investigation" for grooming ten year old girls and being handed multiple upgraded welfare benefits!

Russia...

Throwing in a "Meanwhile" does not mean you're not hijacking.

Just noticed you've published this nonsense again. Why? Any cursory examination of terror attacks and assassinations since the Eighteenth Century would have demonstrated you were talking nonsense.

Who else put bombs in cafes? Russians?

adwil said:

I've previously presented you with evidence showing you were utterly wrong.

Sorry - I think you did contradict some small part of my terrorism list but it was so woolly that I didn't correct my boiler-plate. Remind me.

Meanwhile, your "moderate Zionists" boast of the terrorism on which Israel is founded so even if I was wrong I would be right.

Ronan Bergman proudly pinpoints the moment in 1907 when the Zionists dedicated themselves to terrorism:

p.6 - "Rise and Kill First The Secret History of Israel's Targeted Assassinations" - by Ronen Bergman, translated by Ronnie Hope

Herzl himself saw Palestine, the Jews’ ancestral homeland, as the ideal location for a future Jewish state ... a Jewish nation was to survive in peace. Herzl’s view came to be known as political Zionism.

Ben-Zvi and his seven comrades, on the other hand, were - like most other Russian Jews - practical Zionists ... would take what they believed to be rightfully theirs, and they would defend what they had taken.

This put the practical Zionists in immediate conflict with most of the Jews already living in Palestine. As a tiny minority in an Arab land - many of them peddlers and religious scholars and functionaries under the Ottoman regime - they preferred to keep a low profile. Through subservience and compromise and bribery, these established Palestinian Jews had managed to buy themselves relative peace and a measure of security.

... Ben-Zvi and his friends found this situation to be unsustainable and intolerable. Some were former members of Russian left-wing revolutionary movements inspired by the People’s Will (Narodnaya Volya), an aggressive anti-tsarist guerrilla movement that employed terrorist tactics, including assassinations.

Disappointed by the abortive 1905 revolution in Russia, which in the end produced only minimal constitutional reforms, some of these socialist revolutionaries, social democrats, and liberals moved to Ottoman Palestine to reestablish a Jewish state.

... Jaffa on September 29, 1907 ... flat was rented by Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, a young Russian who’d immigrated to Ottoman Palestine earlier that year ... That night, those eight people formed the first Hebrew fighting force of the modern age. They decreed that, from then forward, everything would be different from the image of the weak and persecuted Jew all across the globe.

... They named their fledgling army Bar-Giora, after one of the leaders of the Great Jewish Revolt against the Roman Empire, in the first century. On their banner, they paid homage to that ancient rebellion and predicted their future. "In blood and fire Judea fell," it read. "In blood and fire Judea will rise." ... Ben-Zvi would one day be the Jewish nation’s second president.

Ronen Bergman even tells us (above) that these were Russian Jews, from the land of the bomb-throwing anarchists.

He fails to mention that the settlements under attack were then, as now, land-grabbing Zionist enterprises with no use for religion whatsoever.

BAR-GIORA was not, at first, a popular movement. But more Jews arrived in Palestine from Russia and Eastern Europe every year - 35,000 between 1905 and 1914 - bringing with them that same determined philosophy of practical Zionism.

With more like-minded Jews flooding into the Yishuv, as the Jewish community in Palestine was called, Bar-Giora in 1909 was reconstituted into the larger and more aggressive Hashomer (Hebrew for "the Guard"). By 1912, Hashomer was defending fourteen settlements. Yet it was also developing offensive, albeit clandestine, capabilities, preparing for what practical Zionists saw as an inevitable eventual war to take control of Palestine. Hashomer therefore saw itself as the nucleus for a future Jewish army and intelligence service.

Ronen Bergman only hints at the fact the Zionists were totally at odds with the peace-loving Jews of Palestine, overwhelmingly recent immigrants drawn to Palestine in part by the welcoming and tolerant atmosphere. But he does tell remind us that these terrorists not only hated the religious Jews but practised terrorism on them too.

The members of Hashomer who led the Haganah at the outset were even willing to commit acts of violence against fellow Jews. Jacob de Haan was a Dutch-born Haredi - an ultra-Orthodox Jew - living in Jerusalem in the early 1920s. He was a propagandist for the Haredi belief that only the Messiah could establish a Jewish state, that God alone would decide when to return the Jews to their ancestral homeland, and that humans trying to expedite the process were committing a grave sin. In other words, de Haan was a staunch anti-Zionist, and he was surprisingly adept at swaying international opinion. To Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, by now a prominent Haganah leader, that made de Haan dangerous. So he ordered his death.

On June 30, 1924 - just a day before de Haan was to travel to London to ask the British government to reconside

Its the Zionist playbook - shut down any cross-cultural exchange. Label anyone who mixes freely with brown people as a terrorist.
