The Father (who's army I fought twice) Hafez al Assad had no qualms in using chemical weapons in his assault on the town of Hama which saw anything from 10 to 40,000 people annihilated by the Syrian Forces , like father like son , apples rarely fall far from the tree

One day Putin will do a deal and let him go and Assad like Saddam and Gaddafi , Mussolini and umpteen others will be found hanging from a street light .

Syria was a relatively open and secular society - girls went to school, minorities were protected, alcohol sold discreetly - even while it was flooded by refugees created by Israel and under partial occupation.

Tell us about those refugees, BM - those Christians you seem to have 99.94% ethnic cleansed.

The use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime (Both Father and Son) go back decades , the ruthless, heartless and despotic need to keep control is stunning and what is even more stunning is that to keep control they have literally destroyed the country and they still ahve no acheived victory
